SAP Now 2024 - a look back at the conference

Last week, on 10 and 11 September, another annual SAP NOW conference was held, this time with the subtitle "How to use the full potential of your business", which focused on the latest trends in enterprise solutions.

The conference brought many inspiring stories in different areas, from digital transformation projects in the field of SAP S/4 HANA deployment, to the use of GenAI in particular areas, such as purchasing processes, to addressing the issue of sustainability using SAP tools.

con4PAS, as a long-standing gold partner of the conference, presentedproject with ČEZ to renew the purchasing solution called GO Procurement SW in the ČEZ Group. 

The SAP SRM central purchasing system has been replaced by SAP S/4HANA for Central Procurement - supporting the following scenarios: 

  • Central requesting 
  • Central purchasing including supplier selection 
  • Central contract management 

The following SAP Ariba solutions (cloud environment) were selected for electronic communication: 

  • SAP Ariba Guided Sourcing (Request for Proposal Management) 
  • SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (supplier registration and management) 
  • Business Network (exchange of documents with suppliers)

Given that the range of products purchased by CEZ Group varies enormously, from common office supplies, protective equipment, HW and SW, through maintenance of existing and construction of new production sources to provision of fuel for power plants, the implementation was very extensive both in terms of purchasing processes and integration with surrounding systems. A high-level overview of the processes is shown in the following picture:

The smooth transition of the generational renewal of the purchasing solution is very aptly summarized by the following statistics comparing data for Q1 and Q2 of 2024 versus 2023

At our company's booth, we also presented scenarios in the area of processing multi-channel communication built on the Sinch Contact Pro platform with advanced customer management processes in SAP ERP and SAP S/4 HANA solutions. 

Judging by the number of participants and their interest in the topics presented, the conference fulfilled its purpose to outline the future direction of SAP solutions and to inspire following digital transformation projects through real stories.
