DocuSign – easy and fast electronic signatures

DocuSign makes it easy for you to electronically sign documents in the SAP environment. Native integration allows you to electronically sign documents in SAP Ariba Contract Management and integration to SAP ERP or S/4HANA systems is possible via API connection.

What is DocuSign?

DocuSign is a certified, eIDAS compliant digital signature solution offering a fast and secure way to sign documents in 44 localized languages.

How does DocuSign work?

Prepare to sign

Users upload contract documents that need to be signed into the DocuSign application. They add names of signers and other recipients and specify the order in which they should sign, signature tags, job titles, and any other information like a cover letter or due dates. Once the documents are ready, they can be sent for signatures.

Sign electronically

Recipients are notified by email inviting them to review the documents in DocuSign. If the recipients are first-time DocuSign users, they can select a pre-drawn signature or draw their own, using a mouse, a touchpad, or a mobile device touchscreen. Once documents are completely signed, everyone involved is alerted and the documents are stored electronically in the application, including audit trails.

DocuSign with SAP Ariba

SAP Ariba Contract Management solution provides native integration with DocuSign. By submitting the signature task in SAP Ariba Contract Management, a user is prompted with a DocuSign login page followed by a user consent page for the OAuth authentication method. After the new user grants access to OAuth authentication, all his future signature tasks are directed automatically to the DocuSign application. The contract signers defined in the SAP Ariba contract workspace receive an interactive email notification and are invited to review the documents in DocuSign. The signed contracts are automatically returned to the SAP Ariba workspace to provide a seamless, end-to-end electronic contracting process.

By using an API connection, DocuSign also integrates with other SAP systems, like ERP or S/4HANA, to sign documents electronically.
