The latest SAP Ariba release 2111 is planned for 12th November 2021 and includes many new features.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Guided Sourcing UI introduces support for many standard functionalities of SAP Ariba Sourcing application. Buyers are enabled to, e. g.:
    • Create reverse auctions and monitor their progress in the Bid console.
    • Create follow on documents in an external system from the award.
    • Create full sourcing projects.
    • Grade and score the suppliers’ bids.
    • Create a single award from the bid analysis interface using the Award button in the table view of the Bid Analysis tab.
    • Split awards of the line items among multiple suppliers.
    • Add service items to the events organized into a structural hierarchy.

Buying and Invoicing

  • User announcements on the Guided Buying homepage now allow administrators to broadcast business or technical news to the users. The announcements are changed every 5 seconds.
  • Users can change self-service RFQs after publishing them to suppliers, e. g., descriptions, quantities, requested items, or end date. It is also possible to save the forms prior to submission, duplicate or delete them.
  • Team buying has been expanded to include a request for quotes process. Teams can now collaborate to create RFQs and send them to suppliers.
  • In the Guided Buying Capability with SAP Ariba Buying (2NV) integration scenario and the Guided Buying for Central Procurement with SAP Ariba Buying (3EN) integration scenario, users can edit submitted requisitions to add new line items, comments, and attachments. Upon the final approval, the edited requisitions are replicated to SAP S/4HANA or SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Business Network

  • Suppliers are now allowed to cancel or edit a shipping notice if its goods receipt is fully reversed, and it does not have any other related goods receipts.

Data Integration

  • A new integration tool SAP Master Data Integration (MDI) is introduced to support master data integration between SAP Ariba applications and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. In this release, support is available for the Cost Center master data object and supplier data. The MDI tool enables automatic replication of the business partner data to SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, which is used as a supplier database for SAP Ariba Sourcing, SAP Ariba Contracts, and SAP Ariba Buying solutions. (Users do not have to upload supplier data using CSV files.)

SAP Ariba – Data Integration

Mobile app SAP Ariba Procurement 

  • The mobile application SAP Ariba Procurement has been enhanced with a few standard functionalities of the web application Guided Buying:
    • Quantity-based receiving to fully or partially accept or reject items.
    • Split accounting in requisitions.
    • Shop on behalf.
    • Change order process.
    • Non-catalog requests.

Supplier Management

  • A new modular process framework in SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance solution is now enabled for qualification and custom supplier lifecycle process. Buyers can create a framework for different supplier management processes and different types of suppliers using flexible combinations of modular supplier management questionnaires.
